Tales of Stranger Boston

Day 2

Henri catches hypothermia and returns home.
Erasmus tries to enter the Zodiac.
Jason ‘decks’ Erasmus and locks him out.
The Winter Court sidhe Sioc Dubh lurks and tells Erasmus to find shelter, which he does by returning to the MIT tunnels and his abode, getting warmth and sleep.
The next morning, Jason awakes to police sirens.
He finds the glass from the Zodiac door removed, a pile of sand, a black iron spear embedded in the tiger painting, and a note containing the message “I’m back. Expect me.”
Office Ma has no leads, and Jason goes to find MacFinn, who shows up.
Knowledge of the Cult of the Spear reveals that it is a cultish gang, with the symbol of a snake wrapped around a spear, that is building its numbers, not expanding, based around a warehouse in the Leather District next to Chinatown.
Jason tries to rally support for a retaliatory strike from the Chinese Guards.

Day 1

Erasmus is struck and marked by dark magic.
He meets James MacFinn, information dealer, who escorts him to the Zodiac, where Jason and Henri are.
Tefera arrives and threatens to kill Erasmus for his participation in an issue about her ‘daughter’.
Eva Larchmont arrives and tells Tefera that Oliver Warburton has been found, dead. Tefera leaves.
Alan Zed gives advice to Erasmus.
Erasmus wants to avoid dying, so goes to investigate Warburton with the aid of Henri.
At the police station, the pair finds Officer Ma, who tells them of Warburton’s death by a sort of dehydration.
They are directed to monster hunter Jeremiah Blakely, who tells them about the monster in the Back Bay Fens being the suspect for the murder.
Calling Alan Zed, Erasmus finds that it would be dangerous to travel for at most another twelve hours, if he is lucky.
The pair travel to Back Bay Fens in the nighttime and stumble upon will-o’-the-wisp Parker, and being trapped, are saved by Evan MontBlanc.
The man drives the pair back to the Zodiac.

The First Post
This is the first post, made by the GM

This post is to state the following for posterity:

~Harry Dresden does not exist in this universe. Say perhaps that he and Justin DuMorne died in the same fire, along with fellow apprentice Elaine Mallory. The vampire war has yet to occur.
~The game will start on the autumnal equinox, September twenty-second in 2004.
~The game shall take place primarily over Skype, though potentially we could meet for a session in person during some vacation at some point.
~This game is intended to be as realistic as possible, so:

  • NPCs are characters as real as PCs or players and should be treated as such.
  • Actions will have appropriate consequences.
  • There are no alignments; please play a consistent character, but your actions will never be
    defined as good or evil.
  • Life goes on: People age, change, are born and die. The world does not stop for you.
  • On which subject, anyone can die. This will not ever occur without an agreement between the
player and GM, but be aware that characters cannot be revived (this might not stop some
characters from trying). A PC death will result in the player taking over another character
in the city (with the GM’s approval) who can be either a newcomer or an existing character.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy the game.

~Cel
